News and apologies

Hi everyone sorry I have been missing for a while, I've really missed my blogging and I am hoping I will be able to get back into the swing of things.

My news is I am pregnant with baby number 5, currently 22 weeks.  A very big shock at first as it wasn't a planned pregnancy but saying that this bump is very welcome and now the excitement of another bundle of joy arriving has taken over the shock.

I had a rough few months feeling so ill and I'm so glad that part of pregnancy is over with now and it has gone really quick already. I'm booked in to have a home birth this time after bumps unplanned home arrival.  But that said you just never know what will happen when the time comes.

I will say goodbye for now and watch up for updates and posts coming soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

new mum fitness

we all get that feeling after we've had a baby, we feel we need to get fit shake off that baby belly and get our bodies back again. It's not always easy to find the time or the energy when you've got a baby but there are lots of things you can do which include using your buggy to help you keep fit.

If you head over to the kiddicare blog here http://www.kiddicare.com/blog/2015/06/new-mum-fitness/
there is lots of advice and information on New Mum Fitness including walking and jogging with your pushchair, they can also advice on the types of pushchairs that are best used for these activities.

I myself have been wanting to get fitter for a while now, I've lost all my baby weight now bump is one but I don't feel as fit as before and had previously looked into some classes but just haven't had the time to go.

I do quite a bit of walking everyday and had never thought about incorporating this into a fitness regeime.  Jogging is great way of getting fit and you can take baby and pushchair along too ( it is not reccomended you start jogging until 6 months after birth).  I think it's a great idea and I'm going to be trying this out with the help of kiddicare and www.sportsshoes.com

It's really important that you wear the right running shoes and there is a really simple test called a west test which will show you the right type of running shoes you need.  I have done mine and  you can see my result below.

Mine told me I need a Support running shoe. As you can see the test is really quick and easy. it shows you exactly how to do it here http://www.sportsshoes.com/support/running_shoes_advice

I would love to hear all your thoughts on new mums fitness and how you get on if try any out, I will be doing a follow up post to let you all know how I get on with my buggy jogging.

Yes I know its already the 10 January, hasn't it gone quick.  I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.

Its been one thing after another here with everyone having some sort of illness since before Christmas, roll on springtime.

If any of you are trying to give up smoking for your resolution then be sure to check out my review of The Aspire Premium E cig.

I will be back soon with more news and reviews plus hopefully some new giveaways.

Aspire premium E-cig starter kit review

New year means New Years resolutions with one of the most common being giving up smoking.  Any one who has tried knows how hard it can be, I myself have given up several times and have lasted up to two years smoke free but always end up going back.

More and more people are using E cigarettes now, I have been wanting to try one for a while now and was sent the Aspire Premium kit just before Christmas to try out and review.

I was sent the kit containing everything you need to get started plus a bottle of e-liquid. The model I received is the CF VV+ high end vaping power system. Features include stainless steel end points, metal button, carbon fibre coated tube and voltage change.

The manual was easy to read with clear instructions on how to put it together and use.

I really like the quality and  sleek design of it you can tell it has been well made and designed, I love the feature of being able to change the voltage (3.3, 3.8, 4.3, 4.8) and is changed by just twisting the bottom to which you want. I have it on 3.8 as I found this suited me well. I haven't yet run out of charge and normally just plug it in every evening.

I have been really enjoying using it, i haven't totally given up smoking yet but this is really helping me to cut down.

If your looking for an E-cig and don't know which one to buy I would definitely recommend this one.

REVIEW & GIVEAWAY OF The First Hippo On The Moon

A couple of weeks ago I was kindly sent a copy of The First Hippo On The Moon by David Williams. Me and my children had yet to read any of his books so we were really looking forward to receiving it.

It is a lovely story about you guessed it two hippos and their quest to get to the moon. I dont want to ruin it by telling you the story as what would be the fun in that.

The book itself comes in a hard cover which I love for childrens books it makes them easier to hold and read together. It is a great big book size too. The illustrations by Tony Ross are amazing so bright and colourful with easy to read stand out writing.

My two middle daughters who are 4 and 5 have been really enjoying reading this with me.  They love the fact its a new and creative story something they have never read before.

I am definately going to be looking at the rest of David Walliams books for children. This book is available to buy from amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0007494009?tag=authorwebuk-21If your stuck for gift ideas this would make an ideal gift.

Review: The Christmas Boutique

Halloween is gone, bonfire night is over and now it's all about the run up to Christmas. If your looking for some new decorations then head on over to the Christmas Boutique where they have everything you will need to make your house sparkle this Christmas.

I was recently sent a box of goodies to review from The Christmas Boutique

I have to be honest I haven't bought any new decorations for years however I knew I would have to this year as we somehow lost all our decorations and tree when we moved.  So I was really pleased to have been giving the opportunity to review for them.

So inside my box I had

A huge Santa sack, no Christmas is complete without one of these right? It's lovely and very well made. Next from my box was

Mr & Mrs holiday Frog bauble tree decorations. These are so adorable and unusual I've never seen anything like these before but I love them and so do the kids. Next out was

These hanging glass pine cones, very shiny and love that they aren't hanging on a thin price of string, I'm sure these are going to look fab. Next we have

Two glass star shaped baubles in red and green, they are quite heavy and I love the hanging ribbon with the addition of the star in the middle too makes them look extra special.

I also got a honeycomb Pom Pom
But I didn't want to take it out the packet very clumsy me didn't want to ruin it. I also received some lovely red baubles
Love the addition of the hearts with the traditional christmas shapes. Last but not least is this
Which is my favourite piece the Christmas Advent Wishing Line. Complete with jingle bells and an opening fabric envelope for every day in Advent. I can't wait to hang this up. Now all we need is a tree.

I normally put up the tree the 2nd weekend in December, how about you? Are you an eager beaver or a last minuter?

Foloow The Christmas Boutique for all their latest discounts and offers  @XmasBoutique
You can find all these decorations here www.THECHRISTMASBOUTIQUE.CO.UK plus lots lots more gorgeous decorations.

Review of Easy Indian SuperMeals

I recently received a copy of Easy Indian SuperMeals by Zainab Jagot Ahmed. I was really looking forward to receiving this as I am currently weaning bump and wanted new ideas.  As I mentioned in my weaning post I've stuck to the convenience  of jars of baby food and rusks to wean the girls, I really wanted to try different stuff with bump, and I did buy a blender which I have hardly used except for a few puréed veg.

I was pleasantly surprised when the book arrived as I hadn't been expecting much just a book of purée recipes but it is so much more than that.

The book is for stage 2 weaning (7 months plus)  threw to 5+. There is lots of detail about super foods and super spices plus a handy table of super spices which are suitable for babies. It Also contains  lots of information on fruit and vegetable super foods. A getting starting guide is included as well as a list of foods to avoid.

The recipes are separated into different sections starting with veggie SuperMeals then  finger food SuperMeals, sweet SuperMeals, meat SuperMeals, family SuperMeals and quick kids SuperMeals.  At the top of each page you can clearly see the stage and age they are suitable for.

I love the fact that there is family recipes and I am looking forward to making some of them especially Lamb Rogan Josh as that is my absolute favourite and I've never made it from scratch before.

Bump isn't quite 7 months yet so I can't try out any receipes with him straight away but I will be. There's a yummy looking festive roasted vegetable mash great for christmas. Yummy spiced potato pie sounds tasty and there's even a veggie korma.

There's just so many ideas and receipes that I would never of thought of trying.  It really does make you see weaning in a new and exciting way.  I would definately recommend this book to anyone with children, would be a great christmas gift too.

If you would like to know anymore about this book head on over to Zainabs website.

It is also available to buy from Amazon

Happy cooking!
